Additive Synthesis with LAZERBASS
Additive Synthesis with LAZERBASS is a comprehensive video tutorial for the "Lazerbass" additive synth ensemble, included with Native Instrument's Reaktor 5.5 and above.
The preview video below is the first 4 1/2 minutes of the video. It explains the basic concept behind additive synthesis, and demonstrates the perfect lack of aliasing in the resulting waveforms
The full tutorial runs for 30 minutes and covers all aspects of the user interface, using spectrum analysis where appropriate to show the patterns of partials.
The music featured in the intro and outro sections was created using 16 instances of Lazerbass and no other synths. (I couldn't resist adding the drum loop, as it fitted so well!) The tutorial includes a bank of snapshots with all the sounds I used.
