in the Laundry Rooms
studios in Sheffield, a purpose-built complex of 5 control rooms plus a
shared live room, with floating floors, no parallel walls, and
extensive acoustic treatment.
I also make video tutorials covering a range of recording, mixing, mastering and sound design techniques. Tutorials are currently available for Reaktor (and Lazerbass), Camel Audio and FabFilter plugins, Sonic Charge Microtonic, and Tone2 ElectraX.
I also design my own plugins, which I release under the name platinumears: these have proved rather popular over the years, especially the classic IQ4gui dynamic EQ plugin (originally released in january 2005) and the more recent 5ORCERY meta-multiband compressor (released in June 2011)

October 2011:
Another Reaktor tutorial released. Additive
Synthesis with Lazerbass is 30 minutes long, and attempts to
demystify the powerful additive synth ensemble included with NI Reaktor
5.5 and above.

room, all properly designed to be isolated from each other and from the
outside world. The control rooms all have left / right symmetry, and
there are no parallel walls or ceilings anywhere.
My control room is now fully wired up, and the live room sounds great!
